This automaton types out the first line to Oasis’ “Wonderwall” and is made from a guitar.

I really want to try doing a typing automaton, using the text from the poem as the source material that the automaton types out and using the subjects mostly for embellisments.
Maybe not fingers like this creator did but something simple to type on my laptop keyboard for example. I think I could look into themes of translation, robo calls, communication, sincerity, that one episode of South Park where Stan uses Chat GPT to talk to handle his relationship with Wendy etc. etc.
In terms of construction I want to experiment with Rotor Springs and a ratchet crank for power. In terms of action I think I want to stick with cams and followers just so I’m not making too much work for myself.

Although this monologue is thematically based on the telephone and spoken voice I think the material is also ripe for the picking. The accuracy for which Jasmine comes for Rachel’s throat is stunning and awe inspiring.
“This is for Rachel you big fat white nasty smelling fat bitch why you took me off the motherfucking schedule with your trifling dirty white racist ass you big fat bitch oompa loompa body ass bitch I’m coming outside and I’m going to beat the fuck out of you bitch.”

<aside> 💡 ChatGPT simulation of a cheating boyfriend
Certainly, here's an example of a text conversation where someone has been called out for their suspicious behavior:
Person A: "Hey, I noticed you've been really distant lately, and it's making me feel uneasy. Is everything okay between us?"
Person B: "I'm just busy with work and personal stuff. Nothing's going on."
Person A: "I understand that life can get busy, but it feels like you're avoiding me. I saw a message from 'Sarah' on your phone, and it seemed more than just a coworker. Can you please be honest with me?"
Person B: "Sarah is just a friend. There's nothing more to it."
Person A: "I'd appreciate it if you could be completely honest with me. It's okay if you have a close friend, but if there's something more going on, we should talk about it."
Person B: "You're overreacting. There's nothing going on. I need you to trust me."

Roses are red violets are blue?
Thinking about other things that would be interesting if an automaton wrote it. Here’s an excerpt from a ChatGPT generation of what someone cheating and being sus might say to their partner over text.
Something something, a computer talking through a machine. something something. Maybe the Three Laws of Robotics?

<aside> 💡 Today is gonna be the day that they're gonna throw it back to you
And by now, you should've somehow realised what you gotta do
I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now
And backbeat, the word is on the street that the fire in your heart is out
I'm sure you've heard it all before, but you never really had a doubt
I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now
And all the roads we have to walk are winding
And all the lights that lead us there are blinding
There are many things that I would like to say to you, but I don't know how
Because maybe
You're gonna be the one that saves me
And after all
You're my wonderwall
Today was gonna be the day, but they'll never throw it back to you
And by now, you should've somehow realised what you're not to do
I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now
And all the roads that lead you there were winding
And all the lights that light the way are blinding
There are many things that I would like to say to you, but I don't know how
I said maybe
You're gonna be the one that saves me
And after all
You're my wonderwall
I said maybe (I said maybe)
You're gonna be the one that saves me
And after all

Here’s the plan:
<aside> 💡 For your approved proposal, create a prototype using low-fidelity materials. Look back at Week 3 for examples of materials to use. The goal is to plan out the scale of your piece as well as the mechanics. Try to learn as much as possible from your prototype. If you need to produce multiple prototypes to break down complex mechanisms, go for it. You may need to create aesthetic prototypes as well, depending on your chosen materials and finishes.
