The Idea

Kat and I tossed around some ideas with what to do with this project. In my mind a device with a remote only needs to exist in two situations: if the thing you want to do is so small you wouldn’t stand up to do it yourself, or if something is physically out of reach. Surprisingly (ahh!) there is a secret third situation: when doing something scary/dangerous.

Kat and I went deep with the “bomb squad” analogy and thought about menially explosive things that are frightening but only because of how loud and unpredictable they are, things that need a remote detonator. We thought about airplane toilets, champagne bottles, but the thing that came to the forefront (and was the easiest to do) was the twist-and-pop containers that frequently hold pre-baked cinnamon rolls and biscuits. See below for some secondary research.
